PageLines DMS Breadcrumb NavXT

NavXT Breadcrumbs is an add-on I developed for the PageLines DMS theme for WordPress and allows the NavXT Breadcrumbs plugin for WordPress to be used within PageLines DMS. NavXT Breadcrumbs is an awesome plugin that displays post hierarchy, not only for the benefit of your readers, but also to increase your site’s SEO.

Installing the zip file

Note: You must install the NavXT Breadcrumbs plugin for WordPress before using my section, otherwise my section will do nothing. ;-)

To install NavXT Breadcrumbs for PageLines DMS:

  1. Visit your PageLines account and download the NavXT Breadcrumbs add-on (this tutorial assumes you have purchased the section already).
  2. Upload the original zip file (do not change the file name!) to WordPress admin –> Plugins –> Add New –> Upload.
  3. Activate the plugin.
Warning: This version of NavXT Breadcrumbs is for PageLines DMS only. It does not work with PageLines Framework. If you’re looking for the PageLines Framework version, click here.

What it looks like

After you have installed and activated NavXT Breadcrumbs (as well as the required WordPress plugin), visit the front-end of your website to access the DMS editor. From there, you can add NavXT Breadcrumbs wherever you want! If you need further instruction on how to use and configure PageLines sections and plugins, view this PageLines tutorial.

Set the Options

The NavXT Breadcrumbs section has only one option. This option allows you to disable the NavXT Breadcrumb links.

DMS NavXT Breadcrumbs options

Available options

Additional NavXT Breadcrumb settings exist for the WordPress plugin at WordPress admin –> Settings –> Breadcrumb NavXT. I won’t go over these here because the author has made it pretty self-explanatory.

Customizing with CSS

If you’re like me and customize everything with CSS, you may find this information handy. The most important things you may want to change use these CSS selectors:

.section-dms-breadcrumb-navxt /**use to change the entire section container**/
.section-dms-breadcrumb-navxt .pl-section-pad /**use to change the padding and margins of the text container**/
.dms-breadcrumb-navxt  /**use to change the color, padding, and margins of the text**/
